Odd-Even: 2-Wheelers to be Exempted, Fine of Rs 4,000 on Violation
Women will be exempted from the odd-even road rationing scheme that is set to return to Delhi soon.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday, 17 October, said that the odd-even scheme which is scheduled to be implemented in the capital from 4 to 15 November will exempt two-wheelers.
He clarified that the scheme will also include vehicles coming from other states, besides non-transport 4-wheeled vehicles.
He also said that the scheme will be applicable from 8 am to 8 pm, except on Sundays, and violating the rule will incur a fine of Rs 4,000.
Here’s a lowdown on who is exempted from the scheme and who is not:
Who’s Exempted
- Women driving alone, cars having all women as occupants and women accompanied by children aged less than 12 years.
- Two-wheelers
- Vehicles of President, Vice President, PM, Governors, CJI, Speaker of Lok Sabha, Union Ministers, Rajya Sabha & Lok Sabha Leaders of Opposition, Chief Ministers of States & UTs
- Vehicles carrying school students
Who’s Not Exempted
- Non-transport 4-wheeled vehicles
- Vehicles coming from other states
- Vehicles of Delhi CM and other ministers
- Privately-owned CNG vehicles
When Will It Be Introduced?
The car rationing scheme will be introduced between 4-15 November. Cars with number plates ending in an odd number will only be allowed to ply on odd-numbered days. While cars with number plates ending in an even number will be allowed to ply on even numbered days.
