Delhi government is set to conduct over 1 lakh tests for COVID-19 in the next few days, ANI reports on Tuesday. Random testing will be done in hotspots and quarantine centres are being set up in large numbers.

Twenty-four new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Rajasthan on Tuesday: 4 in Banswara, 1 in Churu, 3 in Jaipur, 7 in Jaisalmer and 9 in Jodhpur, according to the state’s health department.
The total number of positive cases in the state has risen to 325.

The Dr Baliga Nagar area of Dharavi has been sealed and contact tracing of the new cases is being done. Total coronavirus positive cases in Dharavi now stand at 7, including 1 death, according to the news agency.
India would supply paracetamol and Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) in appropriate quantities to badly affected nations and neighbouring countries, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Tuesday, 7 April.
“In view of the humanitarian aspects of the pandemic, it has been decided that India would licence paracetamol and HCQ in appropriate quantities to all our neighbouring countries who are dependent on our capabilities,” it said.
“We will also be supplying these essential drugs to some nations who have been particularly badly affected by the pandemic. We would, therefore, discourage any speculation in this regard or any attempts to politicise the matter,” MEA added.
Gujarat has reported 19 new cases of COVID-19: 13 from Ahmedabad, 3 from Patan and 1 each from Bhavanagar, Anand and Sabarkantha. The total number of positive cases in the state is 165, according to Gujarat’s health department, ANI reports.

In a bid to curb the flow of misinformation on COVID-19, Facebook-owned WhatsApp on Tuesday announced a new limit on frequently forwarded messages where a WhatsApp user can forward such messages to only one chat at a time, IANS reports.
“Till now, there are a total of 308 COVID-19 cases including 168 Tablighi Jamaat returnees,” UP CM Yogi Adityanath said.

A 72-year-old COVID-19 patient belonging to Jharpada died from the disease on Tuesday. The patient complained of respiratory distress and was admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar on 4 April.
