In the Narendra Dabholkar murder case, when the CBI questioned Virendra Tawde’s wife, Nidhi Tawde, it emerged that her husband had been in frequent touch with Rudra Patil, reported The Mumbai Mirror.

Patil has been accused of the murder of left-wing politician Govind Pansare.

According to the report, the interrogation revealed that Tawde – who was linked to the Hindu right-wing organisation, Sanatan Sanstha – had met with Patil to discuss Pansare’s “movements and activities”, before his murder in 2015.

Patil is also wanted in the 2009 Goa blasts. Another accused in the Goa blasts case, Prakash Anna revealed that they also discussed Karnataka scholar MM Kalburgi, who was killed in August 2015, the report said.

Tawde’s wife reportedly said Patil and Tawde had visited Kolhapur together, and had kept constantly in touch.

Earlier, ballistic reports confirmed that the same weapon had been used in both the Dabholkar murder in 2013, and the Pansare murder last year.

Tawde was arrested after CBI officials found documents and emails which implicated him in the Dabholkar murder. The bike on which the assailants rode when Dabholkar was shot has still not been found, and is a critical piece of evidence.
