As another TMC MLA, along with 10 Zila Parishad members, joined BJP on Monday, 24 June, BJP leader Mukul Roy took a dig at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, calling this “just the trailer”.

Roy said, “Yeh trailer hai, film abhi baki hai” (This is just the trailer, the film is yet to begin).

He also said that the TMC leaders joining the party is an "extension of the first phase" which is to continue till Banerjee collapses, ANI reported.

“When the seven phases will complete, there will be no TMC government left in the state.”

MLA Wilson Champramary, Dakshin Dinajpur Zilla Parishad President Lipika Roy along with 10 Parishad members joined BJP in presence of BJP leaders Kailash Vijayvargiya and Roy.

Reiterating his claim, Vijayvargiya said that TMC leaders joining BJP would take place in seven phases like the Lok Sabha polls.

Roy described the joining as an “earthquake”, saying almost all members of the Zilla Parishad, including its chairperson Lipika Roy, are in the BJP now, PTI reported.

A number of TMC leaders have joined the BJP after it emerged as a strong challenger to the state's ruling party by winning 18 Lok Sabha seats of the total 42 there.
