Talking to CRPF jawans on the 80th Raising Day, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on Tuesday, 19 March, said that the leadership will "choose its time and method" to tackle terrorists and those who abet terror activities.
“We will choose our timing. The leadership will deal with issues in its own way, whether it is taking action against terrorist or those who allow harbouring of terrorists,” NSA Doval said.
The National Security Advisor attended the 80th CRPF Anniversary Parade in Gurugram as the chief guest.
He also paid tribute to the 40 CRPF men who were martyred in a terrorist attack on 14 February. He offered support to the families of the martyred men.
“I want to pay tribute to the brave 40 CRPF jawans who sacrificed their lives in Pulwama for the country. The country hasn't forgotten their sacrifice and it will never forget it,” Doval said.
"What should we do? What should be our way, our aim and our response and time to respond? The country's leadership is both capable and courageous to (do) that. The country will tackle all such challenges and we have the courage to do this," Doval said.
Doval asked the CRPF to not look back or worry about the past but enhance its professionalism, credibility training and physical strength.
"If your morale is high, then [the] country's future is safe," he said.
Doval said world history is replete with examples of constitutional crises and government collapsing when the internal security of a nation is threatened.
