1. Cops Rescue 6-Month-Old Baby From Kidnappers

The Rachakonda police on Wednesday rescued a 6-month-old boy and apprehended the two persons involved in his kidnapping. The boy was handed over to his parents, while the accused were remanded in judicial custody by the Pahadishareef police on Wednesday.

The boy, son of Soni and Narender, went missing from a family friend’s house in Padahishareef on 3 May. Subsequently, a case was filed at the Pahadishareef police station and a special team was formed to rescue the baby. During the probe, the police found that one Shaik Ahmed from Nanded had kidnapped the boy. Following his arrest, the boy was traced to Mir Fayaz Ali of Shaheennagar.

2. Telangana IT Dept Exercises Caution in Storage of Aadhaar Data

Following the IT grids case in which the data of 7.8 crore Aadhaar card holders was found to be in possession of a private firm, Telangana state’s IT department has cautioned all its agencies against storing the Aadhaar data of their beneficiaries in their databases and recommended storing such data in a secure data cloud instead.

“We have very proactively been cautioning departments against putting Aadhaar data out in public and we’re expecting this effort to help thwart hacking,” said a senior officer.

3. TD, YSRC MLAs Get Tax Notices

After serving notices to the TRS MLAs, including the party’s top brass, over a sharp increase in the value of their assets, the income tax department is now on the trail of the ruling TD and even YSR Congress  members in Andhra Pradesh.

It is learnt that while some notices have already been issued, the I-T department will be issuing more such notices in the days as the department is still studying the affidavits of some more candidates. Some of the notices were reportedly served recently and the lawmakers have been given time to respond to the notice.

4. Telangana High Court to Decide on Suspended MLCs Pleas by May 15th

The Telangana High Court on Wednesday began the final hearing on the petitions filed suspended MLCs challenging their suspension by TS Legislative Council chairman on the grounds of defection.

A vacation court bench comprising Acting CJ Raghavender Singh Chauhan and Justice Shameem Akhter is hearing the petitions filed by S Ramulu Naik,  K Yadava Reddy, and R Bhoopathi Reddy. The bench said it will pass final orders by 15 May as per SC order.

5. Infosys Effects ‘Parking Fee’ Deduction in Staff Salaries

It was an open secret for sometime now but resentment against tech giant Infosys’ levy of parking fees from its employees has bubbled out in the open.

Those in the know, including employees, confirmed to The Hindu that the company has been deducting ₹250 per month for two-wheelers, and ₹500 per month for cars, from employees’ salaries.
