A mosque in Hyderabad has opened its door for health services to cater to around 1.5 lakh people, mostly from the underprivileged section, reported The Times of India.
Masjid-e-Ishaq, located at NS Kunta, will operate as a community health centre that would provide information about the facilities in 30-plus government hospitals in the city. The Centre will also have a network of 100 volunteers who would treat patients for free, reported TOI.
The health centre will run in collaboration with a city-based NGO Helping Hand Foundation (HHF).
Maulana Faiq Khan, the Khatib of the Majid-e-Ishaq, told TOI that the health centre would also conduct health awareness programs for pregnant women, ensure vaccination compliance for the children in the area, hold periodic screening to educate people about different diseases.
Besides NS Kunta, residents of Achireddy Nagar, Vatapally, Chasma, Mustafanagar, Pahadi Guntal Shah Baba, Tekri Biryani Shah, Teegal Kunta, Jahanuma, Tadbun and Fatimanagar will also be able to enjoy the benefits of the health centre.
