Bhartiya Kisan Union leader Balbir S Rajewal on Wednesday, 27 January said that the farmers’ march to Parliament planned for 1 February has been postponed due to the violence on Republic Day.
The farmers' unions on Monday had announced that they will march towards the Parliament in New Delhi on 1 February, if their demands are not met. Incidentally, this is also the day Union Budget will be presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
"More than 2 lakh tractors joined yesterday's rally. 99.9 percent protesters were peaceful. It was a target of government's conspiracy," Rajewal said, according to NDTV, addressing a press conference at Singhu border.
"These miscreants had declared that they will go to Red Fort. They had a deal with government. Authorities let them easily enter Red Fort. Deep Sidhu is Amit Shah and Modi's agent," Rajewal reportedly said.
