DGP DM Awasthi, while briefing the media, said, “Bachheli PS Incharge had informed the BJP MLA that adequate security was not present on the route near Kuakonda and that he should not go there.”

He was moving with 50 security personnel which were withdrawn on his request after he reached party office in Dantewada at 1 pm, said the police. Despite warnings that road-opening was not done, Mandavi chose to travel by Kuakonda road.
