A Dalit man,19, was beaten up and brutally attacked on his private parts on 8 July by a group of people Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur Dehat district. The attack was captured on camera.

In the viral video, the Dalit man can be seen being kicked and beaten with sticks by a mob.

The mob can be heard asking the Dalit man his caste. After learning that he is from a particular community, the beating intensifies. The helpless youth cries out in pain but takes all the beating with almost zero resistance.

According to reports, the attackers come from the OBC community and the incident occurred over a conversation between the young man and a girl.

Meanwhile, police officials have arrested one person in the case while police teams have been formed to find the other culprits.

In another video, the man is tied around a tree while another man holds his hands together. A different man can then be seen poking him in his private parts with a wooden stick. The victim has been admitted to a Kanpur hospital.

Beaten Up Over Alleged Affair

The FIR registered by the victim's father reveals that the man provides tents for marriage functions where he met the attacker's sister, after which they started talking to each other over calls.

The woman on Wednesday reportedly called him for a meeting. But on spotting them, a group of men from her family caught hold of him, tied him to a tree with a scarf and assaulted him with sticks and lathis for hours. He was also forced to lay down on a wooden bench and beaten up mercilessly.

"As soon as we got to know about the video, a police case was filed over the matter. A person identified in the video has been arrested. Two more people can be seen beating the Dalit youth. We are trying to find out their details and teams have been formed to arrest them," said Ghanshyam Chaurasiya, additional SP, Kanpur, Dehat.

Chandauli: Dalit Settlements Attacked

On 8 July, a mob created a ruckus in Chadauli's Barthara Kala village in a dalit settlement. After a minor dispute, the mob attacked the settlements and mistreated women in the village.

When the dalit residents raised their voice against their brutalisation, the mob set their huts on fire. The incident happened on Thursday, but its video surfaced on Friday.

Dalit Pradhan's House Demolished in Azamgarh

As per reports, a Dalit chief in Uttar Pradesh's Azamgarh district was allegedly subjected to police brutality on 29 June.

The incident occurred following a dispute in Palia village, where Munna Paswan, the village head, got into a scuffle. According to residents of the village, after the police was alerted about the confrontation, two constables reached the spot.

Later, the police said that one of the constables, Vivek Tripathi, was badly injured by Munna Paswan and his aides.

However, as per protesting locals, the policemen arrived in the night again and partially bulldozed three houses belonging to Paswan and his kin, vandalised and ransacked furniture and household items, looted jewellery and cash, and assaulted women and children present in the house.
