Speaking outside an anti-CAA protest organised by Congress, party leader Rahul Gandhi said what the country’s enemy couldn’t do, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is doing.

Taking a dig at the BJP government’s handling of the economy, Gandhi said, “you could not provide jobs and destroyed economy, that is why you are hiding behind hate.”

“You suppress the country’s voice when you lathi-charge, fire on students,” Gandhi added.

“PM Narendra Modi should tell country why he is suppressing voice of students and why they are not getting jobs.”

Further, Gandhi, reiterating in a different vein the Prime Minister’s remark, said that “the whole country knows you (PM Modi) by your clothes. It was you who wore a two-crore suit, not the people of the country.”

Earlier, Gandhi had urged the students of India join him and other Congress leaders in protesting against the “hate and violence” unleashed on India by PM Modi and Amit Shah.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also appealed to people to join them at Rajghat in “this fight for saving” the Constitution.

“This country is a collective bond, collective dream. We have nurtured this land with labour,” Priyanka Gandhi said.

“We have to save the country from the politics of divide and rule. Let us join at 3 PM at Bapu's memorial at Rajghat and be a part of Constitution recitation,” Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote in a tweet in Hindi.
