Chinese Ambassador to India Luo Zhaohui while speaking on the issue of banning Masood Azhar said “This matter (Masood Azhar on UNSC 1267 list) will be resolved, this is only a technical hold which means there is time for continued consultations. It will be resolved, believe me,” ANI reported.
While speaking to the ANI he said that “we understand India’s concerns and are optimistic this matter will be resolved,” and that they “fully believe” in the matter.
“After Wuhan summit last year, the two way cooperation is on the right track, on fast track. We're satisfied with this cooperation and optimistic about the future,” he said.
China on Wednesday, 13 March, had yet again blocked India’s bid to designate Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) Chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist.
It had put a ‘hold’ on a proposal in the UN Security Council to ban him following the Pulwama terror attack.
China, a veto-wielding permanent member of the Security Council, blocked India's bid for the fourth time in the last 10 years.
