After Priyanka Gandhi and Mayawati, Haryanvi singer-dancer Sapna Chaudhary and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi have come under attack of Uttar Pradesh BJP MLA Surendra Singh’s sexist remarks.
The BJP leader, who is a repeat offender, said Sonia Gandhi too was a dancer in Italy and Congress President Rahul Gandhi is following his father’s footsteps by inducting another dancer, Sapna, into his party.
He told ANI, “Rahul ji ki Mata ji bhi Italy mein isi peshe se thi. Jaise aapke pitaji ne Sonia ji ko apna bana liya tha, aap bhi Sapna ko apna banaye.”
(Rahul’s mother also belonged to the same profession in Italy. The way your (Rahul’s) father had made Sonia Gandhi his own, you have also accepted Sapna in a similar manner in India politics.”)
Meanwhile, Sapna Chaudhary on Sunday, refuted reports of her joining the Congress even though Congress’ Uttar Pradesh President Raj Babbar had tweeted a picture welcoming her into the party.
He continued his sexist rant, saying, Indian politics will never accept a dancer to lead the nation as opposed to a "charitravaan" (of good character) and "imaandar" (honest) leader like Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
