A day after a BSP leader threatened to burn down the houses of those responsible for the gang-rape of a minor girl in Rajasthan’s Alwar, the police arrested three people in connection with the case on Thursday, 24 January.
A 15-year-old was reportedly abducted by three men, taken to an field in a village near Badoda Meo and gang-raped on Tuesday, 22 January. The girl’s family found her lying in an unconscious state at the field, the Hindustan Times reported.
After the girl narrated the incident to her family on Wednesday, 23 January, they lodged a complaint at the Badoda Meo police station, the report said.
The police then took the girl into Alwar town for a medical examination, by which time the news of the incident had spread. A group of leaders, including minister in-charge of Alwar Mamta Bhupesh, former MLA Gyan Deo Ahuja and BSP leader Jagat Singh expressing outrage at the incident.
After meeting the girl at the police station in Alwar on Wednesday, Singh declared that if the accused were not found within a span of 24 hours, he would find them, storm into their houses and set them on fire, the report added.
Singh, a former BJP MLA who is now contesting from the Ramgarh seat on a BSP ticket, said:
The three men accused in connection with the incident are Niyamat Khan (19), Taleem Khan (19) and Chatrapal Jatav (24), who have been booked under relevant sections of the Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the police told the newspaper.
