After much delay, admissions season in one of the most sought-after varsities in the country, Delhi University, has finally begun, with the first cut-off list expected to be out sometime around 20 June.
The Quint, along with our knowledge partner CollegeDekho, is here to answer all your DU-related admission queries. Watch the video above, where we take up some of the crowd-sourced queries we have got. Here are the questions that we tried to answer:
Naina Haseeb: “I got 84.75 percent in class 12 (ISC) and my subjects were Commerce, Business Studies, Accounts, Hindi and English. Now, I want to apply for BA in English in DU. Can I get admission in DU?”
Shilpi Jain: “I got 94.8 percent in my class 12 and 81.2 percentile or 2,18,217 ranks in JEE Mains. Should I peruse BTech in a UP colleges or IP colleges since my rank isn’t good or should I get enrolled in a DU college and pursue BSc from there?”
Malak Tariq: “I am gearing up for college admissions and my preference is Delhi University. I want to pursue journalism in undergrad and want to know which colleges in Delhi are the best? Also I would like to know whether English Honours or Political Science can be pursued at an undergraduate level and then journalism, or is it important to study journalism right from the scratch?”
GC Mathur: “The daughter of my domestic help has got 78 percent in 12th Class with Accounts as her main subject. While I have advised her to seek admission in the regular college for BCom (preferably, with Honours) to pursue Chartered Accountants’ profession, coming from an economically weaker section, she wants to do BCom through correspondence, while I am insisting on a regular college because I feel regular ones are better in developing personality as well. She has a feeling that there are no proper studies in regular colleges. She is Delhi-based. What is the fee structure of regular colleges for Honours and ordinary subjects?”
Anonymous: “Do gap-year students have to provide any extra documents during admissions in Delhi University? Also, is the inclusion of Maths in ‘Best Four’ mandatory for BCom (Hons)?”
Anchal Dahiya: “I passed my Class 12 in 2018 with best of four at 78 percent. Then I applied for CBSE improvement exam and got 96.25 percent this year. I am from the EWS category. Is my CBSE improvement mark-sheet applicable for DU? Can I get admission in SRCC for Economics Honours?”
