Sixteen-year-old Isabelle Weall is not just a rising YouTube sensation but a quadruple amputee, who inspires thousands of people around the world with her confidence and bravery. At the tender age of seven, Weall was forced to go through a quadruple amputation when she was suddenly diagnosed with Bacterial Meningitis. However, she has never allowed her disability to define her, choosing instead, to inspire others like her.

Isabelle’s make-up tutorials have taken the internet by storm. She is a fashion icon for many young girls on social media. In an interview with BBC, Isabelle shared her reasons for starting a YouTube channel.

“If I can show people what I can do, it shows them you can still do things and that I can still do things and that I just get on with my life normally rather than being considered disabled.”

Isabelle is Awesome: In Speech; In Practice

Isabelle’s Instagram and YouTube accounts not only showcase her fashion skills but also tackle prejudice against people with disability. Speeches about never giving up or that nothing is impossible in life are widely available on the internet but Weall manages to showcase these ideas in practice. Her videos have garnered tremendous support from adoring fans.

Isabelle’s story in an inspiration in and of itself. In a video describing her life story, Weall details the harrowing tale.

“I was immediately taken to the emergency ward and later I was transferred to a better hospital. The distance between the two hospitals was not that much, just my heart stopped on the way. I survived that and, in the hospital, meningitis affected my body in a severe way, and I got swollen and fat due to leaking veins”

Despite the tumultuous times that she witnessed, her boundless optimism and positive outlook have allowed her to live life on her own terms. She often describes herself as a person who is fully ‘self-sufficient’ and her videos are evidence of the same. Not only is Isabelle a YouTube sensation, she is also a National Trampoline Champion winning the tittle back in 2017. There is truly nothing that this girl cannot do.
