Dear Soldier, Thank You for Looking After Our Nation

I’m really excited to be supporting this wonderful campaign that The Quint has started, it’s called ‘Sandesh to a Soldier’.

I’m really excited to be supporting this wonderful campaign that The Quint has started, it’s called ‘Sandesh to a Soldier’.

And, you know, I’m a Naval officer’s daughter. I’ve heard many amazing stories from my father. I’ve grown up in an environment where I was surrounded by people who were a part of the defence forces.

I’ve also had the good fortune to actually go and visit Kargil and the Line of Control. I have to tell you the reason why you and I are sitting here safe. Why you and I feel like it’s okay for us to go to work come back home and we feel absolutely fine sitting where we are, is because there are a lot of men in uniforms who’ve actually left their families behind. And are literally fighting and laying their lives down and are in such a dangerous place only for our sake.

So my Sandesh to a Soldier is: Thank you very much. For the work you are doing for us. It’s commendable. And we feel safe because you’re staying up day and night at the borders looking after us, looking after our nation.
