A South Extension resident, Poojan Sahil, is furious with the government for chopping trees in South Delhi in the name of development.

To express his disappointment, Poojan has penned a song, hoping the authorities will pay heed. Here is Poojan playing and singing his own rendition of Kailash Kher’s Tuta tuta ek Parinda and delivering a powerful message.

Meanwhile, on Monday, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) stayed the felling of trees in Delhi till 19 July.

A bench headed by Justice Jawad Rahim also issued notices and sought details from the NBCC, which is redeveloping infrastructure in south Delhi, the Rural Development Ministry, Delhi Jal Board and the Environment Ministry.

(Poojan Sahil is a singer and a songwriter, who regularly makes songs on several social-political situations. Poojan is also a Mathematics teacher).
