Friends, the elections are upon us. First, the Lok Sabha elections and then the Delhi Assembly election. So, a question to  Delhi’s netas – kya hua tera vaada?

Be it the MP, MLA, or the councillor – kya hua tera vaada? Tell us what you have done in the past five years so that we can decide on that basis whom to vote for.

Has there been any difference in Delhi’s pollution? Any difference in traffic jams?Congestion? Answer us. In the last 25 to 30 years, every mohalla in Delhi has water-logging as soon as the monsoon starts. Did anyone do anything?

In the summers people in all nooks are thirsty for water. Has anything been done?

Waste is burned in landfills all around Delhi, leading to smoke and pollution. Did you do anything? Answer us. It was said so many times that there shouldn’t be trifurcation of the MCD, but you still did it.

What did you get out of it? In the last 4 and a half years there was a strike by sanitation workers in East Delhi six to eight times. Garbage, waste, stench and disease are all around.  What have we achieved?

Electricity peak load is 7,200 megawatts but, discoms (distribution companies) are taking fixed charges at 22,876 megawatts. Then, those fixed charges were increased five times by you. Is this what you call ‘bijli half’?

I would like to ask again – kya hua tera vaada? What have you done in the past five years for us to vote for you?

Finally, I want to ask you one question. If all manifestos by political parties are made legally binding, would you mind? At least no one will be able to lie and take the citizens for granted. At least there will be hope that the promises made in the manifesto would be fulfilled.

I am awaiting a response from you, my netas.
