Puja Special Trains 2019: Indian Railway Transport Cooperation
The festival season is around the corner and there is already a rush of passengers who are visiting their native places to meet friends and family. To systematize this movement the Indian Railways has announced special trains on the occasion of Dussehra, Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath Festival. This year Durga Puja is being celebrated in the first week of October across India.
During this time the number of passengers travelling increase substantially which makes it difficult for people to buy tickets and get confirmed reservations.
South Eastern Railway has introduced a special train for Durga pooja as the rush during this time is high. A special pooja train was also introduced last year from Mumbai to Howrah Via Tatanagar.
A huge rush has been witnessed in the computerized reservation center at Tatanagar for long-distance mail and express trains. The officials at the reservation counter have already called off any more reservations in the waiting list for long-distance trains.
The reservation list of Howrah-Mumbai Geetanjali Express, Puri-New Delhi Purushottam Superfast Express, Howrah-Ahmedabad Express, and Howrah-Pune Azad Hind Superfast Express between October 1 and 4 also have a lengthy waiting list.
This will also be seen between October 9 and 12, as people who come from different locations to their native homes, tend to go back around this time.
