In a recent report by the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) there seems to have been a massive spike in the unemployment rate in the year 2017-18. There is said to be a lack of transparency as the government did not release the NSSO report earlier.

Mass culture reflects society, and so we look back at songs in Bollywood movies that have represented the state of the unemployed, sometimes in a tongue-cheek manner and sometimes, in anguish.
