OTT platform Eros Now has released the trailer to its upcoming web series on Narendra Modi. Titled Modi - Journey of a Common Man, the 10-episode show highlights pivotal events in Modi’s life that led to him becoming India’s incumbent prime minister.

The web series appears to be made along similar lines as Omung Kumar’s film PM Narendra Modi, which stars Vivek Oberoi. The trailer begins with scenes of a young Modi as a chaiwala at a railway station. It goes on to show him on a quest to become a sanyasi only to be fired into action by the Emergency. There are also glimpses of him as he grapples with the Godhra riots as Chief Minister of Gujarat. The trailer closes with a BJP leader urging his party to help Modi assume office as Prime Minister of India. “If we don’t promote Narendra now, the nation will be upset with the BJP,” he says.

The series is helmed by 102 Not Out director Umesh Shukla and produced by Benchmark Pictures. It stars Faisal Khan, Ashish Sharma, Mahesh Thakur, Darshan Jariwalla and Makrand Deshpande, and features a soundtrack by Salim Sulaiman. It will be available on Eros Now from April, the same month the Lok Sabha elections commence.
