After being questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) since morning in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, actor Rhea Chakraborty finally left the DRDO guesthouse late on Friday, 28 August. As per reports, she was questioned for more than 10 hours and has been summoned again.
The actor was summoned by the CBI days after it took over the case on the Supreme Court’s direction. She has been accused by Sushant's family of mentally harassing him, siphoning off his funds, ultimately driving Sushant to suicide.
After being questioned by the central agency, Chakraborty, along with her brother Showik Chakraborty, were seen at the Santa Cruz Police Station, before leaving for their house, escorted by the Mumbai Police amid heavy media presence.
On Thursday, Rhea clarified in interviews to NDTV and India Today TV that she never took a single penny from Sushant. Rhea also spoke about their Europe trip, wherein Sushant had confided in her that he had gone through a phase of depression in 2013 and had even taken professional help for the same.
The CBI began its probe after a Supreme Court order last week. Its investigation is based on an FIR filed by Sushant’s family in Bihar, which names Rhea Chakraborty, her parents and brother Showik, among others.
Rhea Chakraborty's father and brother have recorded their statements, and Sushant Singh Rajput's flatmate, Siddharth Pithani, has also been questioned for seven days.
