Several Bollywood celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Kangana Ranaut, Ekta Kapoor, Rajkumar Hirani, Jacqueline Fernandez among others, met and interacted with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Change Within initiative in New Delhi, on the evening of 19 October.

Now, from what it looks like, actor-director Pooja Bhatt has taken a sharp jibe at the interaction between Bollywood celebrities and PM Modi. She took to Twitter to express the same, and wrote, ‘“I can retain neither respect nor affection for government which has been moving from wrong to wrong in order to defend its immorality’ - Mahatma Gandhi”

Since focus of the event was on inviting the film industry to create films and television shows that popularise Mahatma Gandhi, to mark his 150th birth anniversary, Pooja Bhatt quoted Gandhi to take a dig at the interaction.

Speaking about the need of the industry to come forward and make films on Gandhi that can help in the nation-building process, Shah Rukh Khan said at the event, “I would like to thank the Prime Minister for bringing us all together, that too for a cause such as this. I feel we need to re-introduce Gandhi ji to India and the world. The film industry can get self-obsessed and it is important we create work that is not only about business.”

Shah Rukh also took to Twitter to thank the PM for opening up the conversation.

Aamir Khan said that he was inspired by PM Modi’s interaction and open discussion. “It was a really wonderful interaction we had with the Prime Minister today. He was very inspiring, very warm and very deep in what he had to say.”
