Indian rapper and singer Taran Kaur Dhillon, also known as Hard Kaur, has reportedly been booked for sedition for social media posts. According to a report by Times of India, the singer has been booked for social media posts against RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and UP CM Yogi Adityanath.

A complaint was filed by lawyer Shashank Shekhar, after which the police lodged an FIR against the singer under sections 124A (sedition), 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, etc),  500 (defamation), 505 (statements conducing to public mischief) of IPC and section 66 of IT Act.

The complainant, an RSS volunteer, said that he was “deeply hurt to see derogatory remarks against RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and UP CM Yogi Adityanath.” Hard Kaur had made the posts recently on her Facebook page.

On 18 June, she posted a photo of CM Yogi Adityanath referring to him as ‘Rapeman Yogi’.

“If this guy was a superhero his name would be-rapeman yogi. You call him when you want your sisters, mothers, daughters raped. National hero. I personally call him #orangerapeman#indiastandup,” she wrote.

She also shared a photo of RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat alleging that the man was responsible “for all terrorist attacks in India”.

“He is responsible for all terrorist attacks in india including 26/11, Pulwama attack. The face of all problems in India. Constitutional casteism is a crime. You Mofo’s you are banned by Sardar Patel Ji after Gandhi’s murder by Godse. You are not allowed to function. In history Mahatma Buddha and Mahavir fought against the Brahminical caste system. You are not a nationalist, you are a racist murderer 💯 #fact” she wrote as the caption.
