Bollywood and TV actor Alok Nath, accused of rape by noted TV producer-writer Vinta Nanda, has reportedly gone missing. Nanda had lodged an FIR against him at the Oshiwara police station on 17 October and recorded her statement on the alleged incident that took place nearly 20 years ago.

According to a report by Mid-Day, sources at the police station said that Nath is now untraceable and there was no one at his house to accept the summons letter issued to him last week.

Nath's counsel Ashok Saraogi said that Nath has gone out of town for important work. "He will return to the city this week and will definitely visit Oshiwara police station. He is in touch with me," said Saraogi.

On the other hand, Nanda, who attended a panel discussion at the curtain raiser of Zee Jaipur Literature Festival on 5 December, said that unlike in 2004 when she first spoke out against Alok Nath and stopped getting work, she is professionally in a good space now. “I suddenly have lot of work to do in the last three months,” she said at the event, reports Indian Express.

Amid the #MeToo movement that got sparked in India after Tanushree Dutta renewed a decade-old allegation against Nana Patekar, Nanda of Tara fame came out about her unsavoury experience with Alok, who has for years enjoyed a holier than thou image on-screen. Nath has since been expelled from CINTAA.
