The trailer follows John Abraham, playing the role of IPS Sanjeev Kumar, through the encounter and the investigation that follows. It shows the controversies surrounding the incident, how the encounter is labelled fake by the public and media and how John’s character strives to bring out the truth. The makers had dropped the teaser quite a few days back and it promised to reveal the real story behind the controversial encounter. “Us din kya hua Batla House mein? Kya hum galat the? Kya main galat tha? (What happened in Batla House that day? Were we wrong? Was I wrong?” says John in the teaser. The actor is said to be playing the role of ACP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav.

The teaser ends with the words: In 2008, a few gunshots created many stories. Eleven years later, we give you the real story.

Operation Batla House took place against Indian Mujahideen terrorists in Batla House locality in Jamia Nagar, Delhi. The encounter took place a week after five serial blasts (on 13 September 2008) in Delhi which killed at least 30 people were killed and over 100 injured.

In the encounter two suspected terrorists were killed and two other suspects arrested, while one managed to escape.

Starring John Abraham and Mrunal Thakur, Batla House is directed by Nikhhil Advani. The film will hit the theatres on 15 August.
