The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to retain power in Uttar Pradesh with a comfortable margin, exit polls results predicted on Monday, 7 March.

As per the Times Now-Veto exit polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party is slated to win 225 seats and retain power in UP, despite garnering 100 less seats than what it won in 2017. The ABP-CVoter has projected 228-244 seats for the BJP, while ZeeNews-DesignBoxed has predicted 223-248 seats for the saffron party.

Meanwhile, India Today-Axis My India, as well as News24-Today's Chanakya have predicted a sweep by the incumbent BJP and their allies in Uttar Pradesh.

The polling for the seventh and last phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections ended on Monday, bringing the month-long exercise to a close. The counting of votes will be held on 10 March.

The Samajwadi Party-Rashtriya Lok Dal alliance and the Congress have been dubbed as key players in the state, besides the incumbent BJP.

Over 55% Voter Turnout Recorded in UP Phase 6 Polls

A voter turnout of 55.79 percent was recorded on Thursday, 3 March, as polling for the penultimate phase of the seven-phase Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, spanning 10 districts and 57 seats, concluded.

Incumbent Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made his Assembly election debut in this phase. He contested from Gorakhpur Urban seat.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is predicted to retain power in Uttar Pradesh, according to the Times Now-Veto exit polls. The party is slated to win 225 seats in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, as per the exit poll, which is nearly 100 seats less than what the party won in the 2017 elections.

Meanwhile, the SP is predicted to win 151 seats, BSP 14, the Congress 9, and others 4

India Today-Axis My India Predicts a Sweep by BJP

India Today-Axis My India has predicted a sweep by the incumbent BJP and their allies in Uttar Pradesh.

While the BJP+ has been projected to garner 288-326 seats, here is how the other parties are predicted to fare:

  • SP+ : 71-101

  • BSP: 3-9

  • Congress: 1-3

  • Other: 2-3

  • Phase 1: 31 seats

  • Phase 2: 31 seats

According to predictions by News24-Today’s Chanakya, vote share may be divided in the state as follows:

  • Others: ((±3) 05%

News24-Today's Chanakya Projects Big Win for The BJP

News24-Today’s Chanakya has also predicted a big BJP win in Uttar Pradesh.

According to News24-Today’s Chanakya, BJP and its allies will garner 294 (±19) seats. Here’s how other parties are expected to fare:

  • SP: 105 (±19)

  • BSP: 02 (±02)

  • Congress: 01 (±01)

  • Others: 01 (±01)

Zee News-DesignBoxed Too Predicts a Win for the BJP

Zee News-DesignBoxed, too, has predicted a BJP win in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, projecting 223-248 seats for the saffron party.

Meanwhile, the SP is expected to win 138-157 seats, the BSP 5-11 seats, the Congress 4-9 seats, and others 3-5 seats.

ABP-CVoter Projects a Win For the BJP

ABP-CVoter has also predicted a win for the BJP, but with fewer seats than what India Today and News24 exit polls have projected.

As per the ABP-CVoter projections, BJP and its allies are projected to garner 228-244 seats. Here’s how other parties have fared in the ABP-CVoter exit polls:

SP+:132-148 seats
BSP: 13-21 seats
Congress: 4-8 seats
Others: 2-6 seats

'It Would Be Phenomenal': Amit Malviya Reacts to Exit Poll Results

Claiming that it would be the first time since independence that a Chief Minister would complete a full term and then get re-elected in Uttar Pradesh, Amit Malviya, in-charge of BJP’s National Information and Technology Department, said “it would be phenomenal” if the exit poll predictions were to come true.

'Record of 30 Years Will Be Broken': Siddharth Nath Singh

UP minister Siddharth Nath Singh also celebrated the exit poll predictions and said that if they were to come true “the record of 30 years will be broken," according to ANI.

'We Will Form Govt With Majority': Nishad Party Founder

Nishad Party founder, Sanjay Nishad, a BJP ally, hailed the exit poll predictions.

ANI quoted him as saying:

"All exit polls are showing lead for the BJP. This election was based on PM Modi and CM Yogi's development and welfare schemes. People have realised it and voted for BJP. We will going to form government with majority."
