India on Monday, 3 August, reported 52,972 new coronavirus cases, taking the tally in the country to 18,03,696. The death toll increased by 771 to 38,135. According to the Union Health Ministry data, there are now 5,79,357 active cases across the country, while 11,86,203 patients have been discharged.

Government of Delhi, according to ANI, also said that 3904 RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 6229 Rapid antigen tests were conducted on Monday, and a total of 10,73,802 tests have been conducted so far.
Number of active cases of COVID-19 reaches 1,081 in Himachal Pradesh, said the State Health Department, according to ANI.
In a press release, dated Monday, 3 August the Government said that that the Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network (eVIN) has been instrumental in providing essential immunisation during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr Ghebreyesus, pointed out that a number of vaccines are now in phase-3 of clinical trials and there’s hope for a number of effective vaccines. However, Dr Ghebreyesus also said that “there’s no silver bullet at the moment, and there might never be.”
